Getting Right With God
Just one sin forced Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden. If one
sin resulted in the loss of an earthly paradise, it shouldn't surprise us that one
sin would shut us out of God's heavenly paradise.
To be honest, we are guilty of not only one sin, but mountains of them: sins of thought, word and deed; sins known and long forgotten; secret sins and public sins.
Since sin keeps us out of heaven, how can we get rid of our sins and get right with God? Can we pay for our sins with prayers, sacrifices or expressions of sorrow?
Prayer is important, but it alone will never make us right with God. Neither will sacrifices or sorrow. We can't pray, buy or cry our way to heaven!
According to God, our sins can only be forgiven when we trust in the blood of Jesus, the Savior, to pay the price for our sins forever: "Whoever believes in Him will receive remission (forgiveness) of sins" (Acts 10:43).
Listen to what God says about our condition and its consequences: "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;" and, "The wages of sin is death" (Romans 3:23; 6:23).
God knows what sinner we are, but because He loves us He has provided salvation for each of us "through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus...by His blood" (Romans 3:24-25).
God wants you to
receive forgiveness of sins,
rest on the finished work of Christ on the cross and
rejoice in knowing that you will be with Him in heaven (Luke 23:43; John 14:3). Won't you get right with Him today?
