The Temple - Displaying The Glory of God
Introduction
A temple - 1) literally - (hieron) a sacred place; used to describe the collection of buildings in Jerusalem; used to describe the edifice to the goddess Diana;2) (naos) From the root word meaning to dwell, referred to the most holy place where the Glory of God rested in in the physical temple
Primary features of the temple/the house:
- The Glory of God filled the place - 1Kings 8:9-11; 1 Kings 9:3
- Place where prayers are made and heard - 1 Kings 8:29-30/Mark 11:17
- For testimony - 1 Kings 8:60; 1 Kings 9:7,8
